7+/8+ School Entrance Tuition
Year 3 and Year 4 are the main entry points to preparatory and other independent primary schools. Most schools set entrance exams as part of their formal assessment process, and candidates sit them in the year prior to entry. Exams typically include three or four written tests – English, Maths, Verbal Reasoning, and/or Non-Verbal Reasoning. A school may also use an activity, reading test and/or individual interviews as part of the selection process.
Competition for places at top independent primary schools is notoriously fierce. For most children, this will be their first experience of formal exams and assessment, and they may find it quite daunting.
